As we prepare to celebrate Pentecost and the feast of Mary Help of Christians, we need to move forward a new path of love toward young people in Boyle Heights. In agreement with the Archdiocese and 'los Misioneros de la Palabra,' we have received the Parish of Santa Isabel as part of the Salesian Mission in the East of Los Angeles area. A new chapter of the effort to evangelize young people and families will begin. It implies that new Salesians will join the project to strengthen the mission in our area. As we have new members in the team, the process will show new realities where we are called to increase our faith and enthusiasm for Jesus. The idea is to create new groups of animation wherever we are in the States. Regarding Saint Mary's, we need to change our mentality. We are not only one parish. We are building a solid community of faith in the Archdiocese, people, and parishioners, willing to share the Gospel as Don Bosco in this area. Fr. Marco César will lead this new project working with the presences of other Salesians in the area. I hope that this movement renews our communities and approaches more young people to the love of Jesus, as Don Bosco wanted.
