We are in the Second Sunday of Advent. We have been crammed for several days with the propaganda that reaches us through the many media that tries to inform us and persuade us about what we should consume to celebrate Christmas well. This invitation and crush has nothing to do with what we have just heard in the gospel. John the Baptist tells us very different things. His voice, from the desert, reached every corner, all the people of Jerusalem came to him (v.5) and told each one what he had to do to straighten his conduct. John not only announces the kingdom, but also warns about the correct disposition to receive it, which is repentance.
