We begin the New Year with Advent, after having celebrated the Feast of Christ the King. We cannot lose the horizon of our reason for being in this world, as the Gospel tells us, "that the concerns of this life do not hinder our minds". The Kingdom of God will come at any moment and we have to be prepared, it is time to fix our lives, it is time to change our priorities. It is time to approach and bring our families closer to the Grace of God, to the Sacraments that give us back the Sanctifying Grace (confession and communion). The signs of the times show us that in any moment the time of mercy ends and the Judgment will come. He tells us to do a lot of prayer and penance continually in preparation for that day. Saint Paul says, “God wants us to be blameless in holiness and for this we must please God with our way of living following the teachings of Sacred Scripture. Iniciamos con el Adviento el nuevo año, luego de haber celebrado la fiesta de Cristo Rey. No podemos perder el horizonte de nuestra razón de ser en este mundo, como nos dice el evangelio, “que las preocupaciones de esta vida no entorpezcan nuestras mentes” pues el Reino de Dios vendrá en cualquier momento y tenemos que estar preparados, es tiempo de arreglar nuestras vidas, es tiempo de cambiar nuestras prioridades, es tiempo de acercarnos y acercar a nuestras familias a la Gracia de Dios, a los Sacramentos que nos devuelven la Gracia Santificante (confesión y comunión) pues los signos de los tiempos nos muestran que en cualquier momento termina el tiempo de la misericordia y vendrá el Juicio. Él nos dice que hay que hacer mucha oración y penitencia continuamente como preparación para aquel día. Dice San Pablo, “Dios nos quiere irreprochables en Santidad y para esto debemos agradar a Dios con nuestro modo de vivir siguiendo las enseñanzas de la Sagrada Escritura. Dios nos bendigo a todos y feliz inicio de adviento como preparación a la Navidad.

We have reached the end of the liturgical year with the annual celebration of the Solemnity of Christ the King, as well as at the end of the calendar year. We do a review of what we did or did not do of our projections and goals, likewise at the end of the liturgical year it is a beautiful opportunity to review how much we have grown as children of God we have increased the grace of God in our life and how close we have come to God. We cannot neglect our spiritual life by hiding ourselves in our work occupations. On the contrary, we have to become aware that our daily, family and work life must be more and more drenched in God. We do not know the day or the hour of our departure from this world or when the end of time will come, the truth is that the Kingdom of God is built in this world, but it is carried out in another as Jesus tells us in the Today's Gospel. Hemos llegado al final del año litúrgico con la celebración anual de la solemnidad de Cristo Rey; así como al finalizar el año civil hacemos una revisión de lo que hicimos o dejamos de hacer de nuestras proyecciones y metas, Igualmente al finalizar el año litúrgico es una bonita oportunidad para revisar cuanto hemos crecido como hijos de Dios, Canto hemos aumentado la gracia de Dios en nuestra vida y que tanto nos hemos acercado a Dios. No podemos descuidar nuestra vida espiritual escudándonos en nuestras ocupaciones laborales. Al contrario, tenemos que hacernos conscientes de que nuestra vida cotidiana, familiar y laboral debe estar cada vez más y más empapada de Dios. No sabemos ni el día ni la hora de nuestra partida de este mundo o de cuando llegara el fin de los tiempos, lo cierto es que el Reinado de Dios se construye en este mundo, pero se realiza en otro como nos lo dice Jesús en el evangelio de hoy. Uno de los grandes valores de la Iglesia es el hecho de que sus bienes no les pertenecen a sus ministros sino a la comunidad que peregrina en determinada parroquia y para su servicio; sin embargo, a veces nos falta mayor compromiso en el cuidado de las cosas o en nuestra generosidad para el sostenimiento económico de las estructuras o de las actividades programadas. Tenemos que hacernos, conscientes de que toda la acción educativa, pastoral y apostólica de nuestra parroquia es responsabilidad de todos y esto demuestra nuestro sentido de pertenencia. Hoy el evangelio nos recuerda las palabras de Jesús sobre nuestra actitud de generosidad. Quizá para un rico es más fácil dar en abundancia que para un pobre, Jesús observa esto y por eso llama a sus discípulos para hacerles ver el caso de la viuda pobre y aquellos ricos dando la ofrenda en el templo. El Seños no repara en la cantidad de ofrenda sea poco o mucho, lo importante es la generosidad de corazón con el que hagamos nuestra ofrenda pues El no mira tanto la cantidad sino la calidad pues aquella mujer, aunque solo dio un par de moneditas, para Jesús dio más que una de las otras personas ricas que daban grandes sumas de dinero; tenemos que ser generosos con el Señor, sin medir, seguros de que Dios devuelve 100 veces más a aquellos que dan con amplitud, pero sobre todo con amor. One of the great values of the Church is the fact that its goods do not belong to its ministers but to the community that travels in a certain parish and for its service; sometimes we lack a greater commitment in the care of things or in our generosity for the economic support of the structures or programmed activities. We have to become aware that all the educational, pastoral and apostolic action of our parish is everyone's responsibility and this shows our sense of belonging. Today the Gospel reminds us of the words of Jesus about our attitude of generosity. Perhaps for a rich man it is easier to give in abundance than for a poor man, Jesus observes this and that is why he calls his disciples to make them see the case of the poor widow and those rich giving the offering in the temple. The Lord does not pay attention to the amount of offering, whether little or much; the important thing is the generosity of heart with which we make our offering. He does not look so much at the quantity but at the quality. That woman, although she only gave a couple of coins, to Jesus gave more than one of the other rich people who gave large sums of money.
